Curtis currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Utilities Engineering Unit at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT). He has been a faculty member at UTT since 2004 and Program Coordinator for the Electrical / Electronics Engineering Diploma program at the John Donaldson campus since 2008.

He developed and currently administers the first dedicated Renewable Energy Engineering Technician level program in CARICOM.

He was the Project Manager for the Electric Bus project in Trinidad and Tobago and is currently the Chairman for the Electric Vehicle Workgroup in CARICOM, a position he has held since 2017.

He is the consulting engineer for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Trinidad and Tobago and oversees the design and construction of twelve (12) community solar PV installations.

He has also served as a consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), The Government of Barbados and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
