Dr. Devon Gardner is an established thought-leader in the energy sector and academia. Devon, who holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics (2001), with specialization in numerical analysis and modelling, from the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in Jamaica has over twenty-years of dedicated and reliable service within the energy sector. Since February, this year, he has been serving as the Head of Technical Programmes at the CCREEE and has oversight for, inter alia, the CARICOM Energy Knowledge Hub (CEKH), and Integrated Resource and Resilience Planning (IRRP).

Prior to his appointment at the CCREEE, Devon was Programme Manager for Energy and Head of the Energy Unit at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, serving from September 2014 until December 2021. Under his leadership, the strategy for the for the Regional Energy Statistics and Information Management (RESIM) that constituted the CARICOM Energy Knowledge Hub (CEKH), the CARICOM Energy Information System (sie-CARICOM), and the Regional Energy Modeling Cluster (REMC), was established as for basis to, collectively, enhance the timely availability and effective dissemination of accurate statistics, current information, and quality intelligence on energy matters within the region. Devon was, also, a Technical Adviser within the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (5Cs), and held multiple appointments in academia, ranging from Senior Research Fellow to Professor in various universities within the Caribbean and Europe.
