Professor Noel Brown is currently serving the Caribbean Maritime University in the
capacity of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Accreditation. He graduated from
the Kiev National Aviation University formerly known as the Kiev Institute of Civil
Aviation Engineers (KIIGA) in 1993, with a Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical
Engineering and a Diploma in Education, to Teach Russian Language as a Foreign
Language. In September 2001 and October 2003, he fulfilled requirements for a second
Master of Science Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Mechanical Engineering
respectively from the University of Oklahoma. Professor Brown has conducted a number
of Numerical and Experimental Analysis and has authored, co-authored and published
over 30 Peer Reviewed Journal and Conference Papers. His areas of expertise would
include Heat and Mass Transfer, Fluid Flow, Energy Storage, Renewable Energy,
Electrohydrodynamic, Cooling of Electronic Components in the Aircraft Industry and
Environmental Sustainability. Professor Brown currently serves as reviewer for a number
of Peer Review Journals including the Journal of Electrostatics, the Journal of
Thermophysics and Heat Transfer and the Journal of Applied Mathematical Modelling to
name a few.
Professor Brown is a Registered Professional Engineer and served as Chairman of the
Board of Directors of the Professional Engineering Registration Board of Jamaica (May
2016 to May 2018) and Past President of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers (November
2013 to October 2014). He is an International Member of the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a Senior Member of the American Institute of
Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and has served on the Thermophysics Technical
Committee. He also holds membership in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating
and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
